Ritesh Deshmukh Biography
Riteish Deshmukh was born on 17 December 1978 in Latur, Maharashtra, India. Ritesh Deshmukh belongs to a Marathi Hindu family. His father, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for two terms. His mother Vaishali Deshmukh is a housewife. Ritesh’s elder brother Amit Deshmukh and younger brother Dheeraj Deshmukh are both politicians and are associated with the Indian National Congress. Ritesh Deshmukh himself is a supporter of the Indian National Congress.
He completed his schooling from GD Somani Memorial School, Mumbai and later enrolled at Kamla Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai to pursue a degree in architecture. He then went abroad for a year to practice architecture. Later, he enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, California, USA to study theatre.

Riteish Deshmukh first met Genelia during the test shoot of his debut film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’. Genelia had ignored him at first because she felt that being the chief minister’s son, he could be a spoiled child. However, during the shooting of the film, the two came close to each other and Ritesh started dating Genelia since then.
Riteish Deshmukh dated Genelia D’Souza for more than eight years and on February 3, 2012, he married Genelia. Their first son Riaan was born on November 25, 2014. Their second son Rahyl was born on June 1, 2016.

Riteish Deshmukh started his acting career in the year 2003 with a romantic film “Tujhe Meri Kasam” with Genelia D’Souza. In the same year he also appeared in the film Out of Control.
In 2004, Riteish played the role of Amar Saxena in the comic thriller film “Masti”. His comedy role in the film “Masti” established him as a comedian.
Ritesh later appeared in the lead role in the film “Kyaa Kool Hai Hum” with Tusshar Kapoor. In addition, he is a must-fear and also made a guest appearance in Namastey London.
In 2008, she played the lead role in De Tali, in which her performance was praised, and later in Chamku. In 2009, he appeared in Aladdin alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez.
In 2010, she starred in the comedy film Housefull alongside Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Khan. In 2012, he appeared in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya alongside Genelia D’Souza.

Controversy
Ritesh was criticized for taking Ram Gopal Varma to the Taj Hotel in Mumbai just after the Mumbai terror attacks. Later, the matter was politicised and it was said that Ritesh Deshmukh should be cast in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film based on the 26/11 attacks, so this visit was facilitated by Vilasrao Deshmukh. The incident took place when Ritesh’s father Vilasrao Deshmukh was serving as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
During an award show in 2016, Riteish mocked John Abraham and said that Abraham can’t learn acting even in the next 10-15 years.
