Munmun Dutta was born on 28 September 1987 in Durgapur, West Bengal. Munmun Dutta was born in a Bengali family. As a child, she wanted to become a doctor.

His father passed away on June 11, 2018 due to chronic illness.

Munmun Dutta completed her schooling from Oxford Model Senior Secondary School, Kanpur, UP. After completing his schooling, he completed his MA in English from The University of Mumbai.

His mother wanted to see him as a journalist, so he enrolled in a journalism course, but left it midway to pursue a career in the world of television.

In September 2021, rumours spread that she is in a relationship with her Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah co-star Raj Anadkat, who is known for the role of Tapu in the show.

Munmun Dutta started his acting career in the year 2004 with Zee TV’s TV serial ‘Hum Sab Barati’. Apart from this, he also tried his hand in films and started his Bollywood career with the film ‘Mumbai Express’ (2005).

The biggest turning point of her career came when she got a chance to play the role of Babita Iyer in the TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ in the year 2008. He got a lot of recognition from the TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’.

Apart from Mumbai Express, he has worked in three more Hindi films, namely – Holiday (2006), Dhinchak Enterprise (2015) and The Little Gods (2018)

In May 2021, Munmun Dutta uploaded a video on her Instagram, telling fans about her YouTube debut but she mistakenly commented about Bhangi caste in one sentence.

After that, the hashtag #ArrestMunmunDutta started trending against him on Twitter.

But she later apologised for her words and said that she was unaware of the true meaning of the word.

In September 2021, she was heavily trolled on social media after rumours of her dating her Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah co-star Raj Anadkat, who is 9 years younger than her.
