Ashok Kumar’s Early Education
Ashok Kumar did his early education from Khandwa city of Madhya Pradesh, after which he completed his graduation from Allahabad University. After that Ashok Kumar started working as a laboratory assistant in New Theatre in the year 1934, later his brother-in-law Sashadhar Mukherjee called him to Bombay Talkies, from where he started his film career.
It is said that Ashok Kumar separated from Bombay Talkies in the 50s and started his own company and also bought Jupiter Theater. The first film “Samaj Ka Nirman” was made under the banner of Ashok Kumar Productions, but the film failed at the box office. After that Ashok Kumar made the film Parineeta film under his banner, after almost three years he closed his production house due to losses in the film production sector.

Ashok Kumar did hit films like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Howrah Bridge, Mahal, Aansu Ban Gaye Phool, Kanoon, Dadi Maa, Kismet and Gumrah in his film career. Both the films of Habra Bridge and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi were so hits that people still watch it today.
In the year 1984, Ashok Kumar also worked in the TV serial. He played a tremendous role in serials like Bhimbhavani Bahadur Shah Zafar and Ujalae Ki Or. Ashok was also awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actor twice. Hindi also received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor of Hindi cinema, in 1988 for outstanding cooperation in the field of cinema. Famous singer Kishore Kumar was also your own brother.
